Kolhapur, the land of magnificent temples, is the religious pride of Maharashtra. Nested in the tranquil laps of the Sahyadri mountain ranges, it is situated on the banks of the river Panchganga. Also termed as a city of palaces and gardens, it is a historic Maratha city, with the Mahalakshmi temple forming the focus. Arts, aristocracy and graciousness, combined with culture stepped in spiritualism, education and modernization. Founded by Chhatrapati Tarabai, this princely state flourished under the reign of Chhatrapati’s of Kolhapur, especially under the legendry Rajarshi Shahu Chhatrapati Maharaj and Rajaram Chhatrapati Maharaj who set a vision and laid the foundation of modern Kolhapur. The crowning glory of the district of Kolhapur is the Ambabai (Mahalakshmi) Temple, where pilgrims in millions come every year to seek her blessings. There is a strong belief after one worships Lord Balaji at Tirupati, offering prayer to goddess Mahalakshmi is essential to complete the pilgrimage.

Jodhpur

  • After breakfast, proceed for the sightseeing tour of Jodhpur.
  • Rao Jodhaji built the city of Jodhpur on a rocky range of sandstone hills in 1458. A wall, 10 kilometers long, 2.7 meters thick, ranging from 4 to 9 meters in height, surrounds the city.
  • The wall has 7 gates, flanked by bastions and fixed with pointed iron spikes. The outstanding feature of Jodhpur is its Fortress Castle (called Mehrangarh Fort), situated on an isolated rocky eminence 122 meters above the city.
  • The Fort dominates the surrounding plain. There are royal palaces where old weapons and armoury are displayed.
  • Continue to Jaswant Thada, a marble pillared memorial (cenotaph), built in 1899.
  • Overnight stay at Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur.

Jodhpur - Jaipur (approx 6 hour drive)

  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel & transfer to Jaipur. On arrival check in at Rambagh Palace, Jaipur (Historical Suite). Walk from room to room amongst rich textures, opulent furnishings and exquisite objects d’art.
  • Step out into expansive, ornamental gardens arranged in brilliant symmetry. Retire to rooms that were once the sanctuaries of kings, princes and their guests. Rambagh Palace exudes an unmistakable sense of history.
  • It’s an architectural masterpiece that transcends time. Request the legendary Peacock suite, which overlooks the Mughal Terrace and the garden where the Maharaja used to celebrate "Holi," the festival of color and lights. Stage an evening of high romance in a private tent, illuminated only by torchlight. Indulge in a stately dining at the gilded Suvarna Mahal, formerly the palace ballroom.
  • Enjoy a royal, feast and lounging under a star-speckled sky. Play Polo as the kings played it, or at a more leisurely pace on elephant back. Wind up the day’s activities in the sophisticated charm of the legendary Polo Bar.

Jaipur

  • Morning after breakfast, proceed for excursion to Amber fort. Here you will enjoy a short elephant ride up the hill to Amber Fort. Amber - 12 kilometres from Jaipur is the deserted city of Amber and the Amber Fort.
  • It was once the ancient capital of the Rajput Empire. From the road you can climb up to the Fort in approximately 10 minutes, but it is also possible to ride up on elephant back.
  • In addition, there is a small Kali Temple on the premises. Afternoon proceed for Jaipur city tour. Well known as the Pink City of India, Jaipur is the state capital and largest city of Rajasthan. Most of the structures in the old walled city are built with pink sandstone, giving the city its name.
  • You will visit the City Palace which houses a museum containing rare manuscripts, paintings and an armoury. Then, proceed on to the Jantar Mantar Observatory, built in the 17th century by Jai Singh, a famous astronomer. The observatory has a 90-foot-high sundial. The Central Museum, founded in 1876, has a large collection of antiques.
  • You will drive past the Hawa Mahal, also known as the “Palace of Winds”. Hawa Mahal, built in a unique design, is the landmark of Jaipur, and was used by the ladies of the court to watch the daily goings-on in the street below.
  • Return back to hotel. Overnight stay at Rambagh Palace, Jaipur.

Depart Jaipur

  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel & transfer to Jaipur airport for your onward journey.
